Moscow, September 08 (QNA) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, during his visit to Moscow.
Both ministers discussed strengthening bilateral ties and conferring on the evolving situations in the region and the world, as well as efforts to de-escalate tensions.
The two sides stressed the importance of backing the diplomatic path to resolve current regional and international challenges, including the Palestinian cause and the situation in Yemen, as well as ensuring the security and freedom of navigation in international waterways, chiefly the Straits of Hormuz and the Bab El-Mandeb.
In addition, they emphasized the importance of beefing up coordination and consultation in international venues, backing efforts to deepen multilateral cooperation, reforming the international system to make it more effective in addressing global challenges, and strengthening global peace and security.
