Doha, September 08 (QNA) - Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) and Baladna Q.P.S.C., Qatar's largest dairy and beverage producer, announced Tuesday the successful completion of Baladna's capital increase through a rights issue, with the newly issued shares now listed and trading on QSE.

A Ring the Bell ceremony was held at QSE to mark the completion of the transaction, with senior officials and representatives of the executive management teams of both organizations in attendance, highlighting the significance of the milestone for the company.

QSE Chief Executive Officer Abdulla Mohammed Al Ansari said the listing of Baladna's capital increase shares marked an important milestone and underscored QSE's role in enabling listed companies to access capital markets and a diverse range of financing solutions to support their growth and expansion.

He said the successful execution of the transaction also demonstrated effective coordination and collaboration among regulatory authorities, market infrastructure institutions and market participants involved in the process.

Al Ansari added that QSE remained committed to developing an integrated and efficient market ecosystem that enables companies to capitalize on the tools and opportunities offered by capital markets. He said such efforts would contribute to greater market depth and a broader range of investment opportunities, while supporting private-sector growth and Qatar's economic development objectives.

Baladna Chairman Moutaz Al Khayyat said the successful completion of the capital increase marked an important milestone in the company's growth and reflected strong shareholder confidence in its strategy and future plans.

He said the additional capital would enable Baladna to accelerate its expansion plans, strengthen production capacity and expand its presence in regional and international markets, further contributing to sustainable food security.

Al Khayyat noted that the full sale of the remaining shares reflected strong investor demand for Baladna shares. The company's share price closed Tuesday's trading session 1.51% higher at QR 1.28, marking the completion of the issuance process.

The issuance comprised 535,996,240 new shares offered to existing shareholders on a one-for-four basis at a subscription price of QR 1.01 per share. The subscription period closed on Aug. 17, 2026.

The process was completed Tuesday with the full sale of the 120,507,405 unsubscribed shares at the start of the trading session, resulting in 100% coverage of the new shares offered.

Following completion of the process, Baladna's issued and paid-up share capital rose from QR 2,143,984,962 to QR 2,679,981,202, distributed across 2,679,981,202 shares, representing an increase of 25%.

The company said the increase was one of the largest capital increases completed under the Offering, Listing, and Mergers and Acquisitions Rules issued by the Qatar Financial Markets Authority in December 2025.

The transaction forms part of Baladna's strategy to strengthen its capital base and diversify its financing sources in support of its regional and international expansion plans, further consolidating its position in the dairy and beverage sector.

It also reflects QSE's efforts to continue developing the market and broaden the range of financing and investment solutions available to companies seeking to raise capital. (QNA)
