Qatar News Agency was established on May 25, 1975 by Amiri Decree No. 94 of 1975, making it the second Gulf news agency that focuses on news of the Gulf region. It became one of the Qatari achievements in the media field.

Throughout its history, the Agency witnessed substantial development in terms of working hours and content. It started broadcasting for half an hour a day, which gradually increased until it became a 24-hour broadcast.

In all of its news broadcasts, QNA is keen on maintaining credibility, objectivity and impartiality. It follows up on all events of interest to the State of Qatar at various levels, internally and externally.

QNA is also a member of the Non-Aligned News Agencies Pool, Federation of Arab News Agencies, the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers, and Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies, in addition to being a member of the Executive Council of the Federation of News Agencies of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.Twitter English
