London, September 08 (QNA) - Gold prices edged lower on Tuesday as oil prices rose, while investors awaited key inflation data due later this week for clues about the Federal Reserve’s path on interest rates.

Spot gold fell 0.1 percent to $4,399.99 an ounce, after reaching $4,442.70 earlier in the session.

US gold futures for December delivery fell 0.7 percent to $4,444.50 an ounce.

Among other precious metals, spot silver fell 0.1 percent to $66.08 an ounce, platinum rose 0.6 percent to $1,836.72, and palladium declined 0.4 percent to $1,387.43. (QNA)
