Gulf Youth and Sports Ministers Hail Qatar's Youth Creativity Award in World of Data
Manama, September 02 (QNA) - The State of Qatar took part in the 39th Meeting of Their Highnesses and Excellencies Ministers of Youth and Sports in the GCC States, convened Sept. 2 in Manama, Bahrain.
Representing Qatar at the meeting was HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, Eng. Yasser bin Abdullah Al Jamal.
Addressing the meeting, Their Highnesses and Excellencies Ministers said they were grateful for the State of Qatar's initiative, represented by the Ministry, in launching the Youth Creativity Award in the World of Data and bearing all costs related to organizing this award, including the recognition ceremony.
They further hailed the success that grew out of this award in terms of fostering the participation of Gulf young people and encouraging them to innovate in data domains.
The meeting approved this award as a shared Gulf initiative and settled on consistently organizing it to be incorporated into the joint Gulf plan of action, in addition to deepening and expanding its domains down the road by adding paths related to emerging technologies, chiefly generative AI and data-related cybersecurity.
In addition, participants debated the agenda items, foremost of which was the Future Action Plan of the Committee of Ministers of Youth and Sports of the GCC States for 2025-2030.
They further discussed the executive plans aligned with the updates in the current and future phases, the GCC nations' perspectives, recommendations of the technical panels, and avenues for reinforcing partnership with the private sector.
The gathering further explored areas of cooperation, as well as strategic dialogues with youth-relevant nations and regional and international organizations.
The meeting also discussed an array of recommendations prepared by the 42nd Preparatory Meeting of Their Excellencies Undersecretaries of Ministries of Youth and Sports in the GCC States, convened virtually.
They approved some of these recommendations and took sound decisions on the matters put forward so as to promote joint Gulf youth action, as well as coordination and integration among the GCC nations. (QNA)
