Tens of Thousands Perform Friday Prayer at Al Aqsa Mosque Amid Israeli Restrictions
Occupied Jerusalem, September 11 (QNA) - Tens of thousands of Palestinians performed Friday prayer at Al Aqsa Mosque despite stringent restrictions imposed by Israeli occupation forces.
The Islamic Awqaf Department in Jerusalem reported that occupation forces erected iron barriers around the Old City gates and mosque entrances, preventing dozens of young men from entering after checking their IDs.
Meanwhile, dozens of settlers desecrated the Bab Al Rahma cemetery adjacent to Al Aqsa's eastern wall, performing Talmudic rituals and blowing the shofar under police protection ahead of the Jewish New Year.
The Jerusalem Governorate noted that these rituals have occurred for three consecutive weeks amid escalating demands by temple groups to enforce religious rites within the compound during Jewish holidays. (QNA)
