Qatar to Face Australia in November Friendly Ahead of Asian Cup 2027
Doha, September 11 (QNA) - The Qatar Football Association announced Friday that the senior national team will play an international friendly against Australia on November 13 at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
The match is part of "Al Annabi's" preparations for the AFC Asian Cup 2027, hosted by Saudi Arabia from January 7 to February 5.
Chasing a third consecutive title after victories in 2019 and 2023, the two-time champions have been drawn into Group F alongside record four-time winners Japan, Thailand, and Indonesia.
Before the continental tournament, Qatar will contest the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup (Gulf 27), also hosted in Saudi Arabia from September 23 to October 6. Qatar was drawn in Group B alongside the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Yemen, while Group A features hosts Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, and Kuwait. (QNA)
