Damascus, August 30 (QNA) - The 63rd Damascus International Fair was inaugurated in the Syrian capital, Damascus, under the slogan “Syria Shines Again,” with the participation of around 1,000 local, Arab, and foreign companies from 60 countries, amid a broad economic, commercial, and cultural presence.
Minister of Social Affairs and Labor of the Syrian Arab Republic Hind Kabawat told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the fair serves as a platform for economic and trade cooperation, in addition to hosting a variety of social and cultural activities. She noted that daily performances are being held by musical groups representing different regions and cultures, contributing to the promotion of social cohesion.
She added that children are taking part in a number of activities organized by the fair in cooperation with the Scouts, giving them an opportunity to participate in the economic and cultural event.
Meanwhile, Director of Media Communications at Syria's Ministry of Economy and Industry Abdullah Hallaq told QNA that the Damascus International Fair reflects Syria’s renewed openness to the world. He emphasized the importance of the fair and its role in supporting the national economy and stimulating economic and commercial activity.
He explained that the current edition differs from previous ones by dedicating the first three days to business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-government (B2G) activities, focusing on investment discussions and negotiations over contracts and agreements, particularly those related to industry and trade.
He added that the fair features around 1,000 exhibiting companies from Syria, other Arab countries, and abroad, with approximately 60 countries participating.
The fair will continue until September 4, featuring a diverse program of economic, commercial, cultural, and social meetings and activities. (QNA)
