Istanbul, July 10 (QNA) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has reaffirmed Turkiye's support for Lebanon's efforts to secure a full Israeli withdrawal from its territory during talks with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam in Istanbul.
According to a statement released after the meeting on Friday, Erdogan said Turkiye continued to pursue diplomatic initiatives aimed at supporting Lebanon's security and remained committed to promoting peace, stability and security in the country.
Salam reiterated Lebanon's commitment to maintaining the independence of its decision-making and extending full state sovereignty across its territory, with the aim of ending Israeli attacks and securing a complete Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese land.
The two leaders also discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations, particularly in the fields of trade, investment, energy and infrastructure.
They agreed to revive negotiations on a free trade agreement and continue the necessary technical consultations, with the aim of advancing mutual interests and increasing trade between the two countries. (QNA)
