UAE and India Discuss Enhancing Strategic Partnerships in Abu Dhabi Talks
Abu Dhabi, May 15 (QNA) - HH President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has held high-level talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi focused on expanding economic and strategic cooperation, against a backdrop of rising instability in the Middle East.
The two leaders met in Abu Dhabi to review progress in the countries' "comprehensive strategic partnership" and explore new opportunities for collaboration across key sectors.
According to Emirati media, discussions covered trade, investment, energy, space, food security, technology and artificial intelligence — industries viewed by both governments as central to future economic growth.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional developments, particularly the growing tensions in the Middle East and their wider implications for international security, global energy markets and maritime trade routes.
During the meeting, Modi reiterated India's condemnation of Iranian attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure in the UAE. Indian officials said the attacks represented a violation of Emirati sovereignty and international norms.
The UAE and India have deepened ties considerably in recent years, with cooperation expanding beyond traditional trade and energy links into emerging technologies and strategic investment. (QNA)
