Gulf Games Doha 2026: Team Qatar Claim Three Golds, One Silver, Five Bronze Medals in Shooting
Doha, May 15 (QNA) - Team Qatar enjoyed another successful day at the 4th Gulf Games Doha 2026 on Friday, winning nine medals in the shooting competitions, including three gold, one silver, and five bronze medals.
The first gold medal came through an outstanding performance by shooter Rashid Saleh Al thba, who captured the men's skeet individual title after defeating Kuwait's Mohammed Al Awad, who took silver, and Saudi Arabia's Nayef Al Mutairi, who secured bronze.
Qatar's second gold medal was won by Reem Al Sharshani in the women's individual skeet event after she finished first ahead of Bahrain's Maryam Al Aasam, who claimed silver, while fellow Qatari shooter Hajar Mohammed earned bronze with a third-place finish.
The third gold medal of the day came in the women's skeet team competition, where the Qatari trio of Reem Al Sharshani, Hajar Mohammed, and Sara Mohammed secured first place. Bahrain finished second to win silver, while Kuwait claimed bronze.
Qatar also added a silver medal in the women's 10m air rifle team event through the team of Dalal Al Kubaisi, Al Maha Al Ali, and Retaj Al Yafei, who finished behind Bahrain, the gold medal winners. Oman secured bronze in third place.
In addition to Hajar Mohammed's bronze medal in the women's individual skeet competition, Qatar collected four more bronze medals during the day's events.
Retaj Al Yafei won bronze in the women's individual 10m air rifle event, while Bahrain's Nouf Al Dosari claimed gold and the UAE's Fatima Al Suwaidi took silver.
In the men's individual 10m air rifle event, Qatar's Abdulrahman Al Sulaiti earned bronze, while Saudi Arabia's Misfer Al Omari won gold and Oman's Salim Al Nabi secured silver.
The Qatari men's skeet team, consisting of Rashid Al thba, Ali Al Ishaq, and Mohammed Al Kuwari, also claimed bronze after finishing third. Kuwait won the gold medal, while Saudi Arabia took silver.
Meanwhile, the Qatari men's 10m air rifle team of Abdulrahman Al Sulaiti, Ali Al Mohannadi, and Khalid Al Sharshani secured another bronze medal after placing third, behind Saudi Arabia in first place and Bahrain in second. (QNA)
