Doha, May 15 (QNA) - Qatar's athletics team continued their strong showing at the Gulf Games Doha 2026 on Friday, winning six medals - including three golds and three silvers - on the second day of track and field competition at Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium at Qatar SC.
The gold medals were secured by Samar Mansouri in the women's pole vault, Ammar Ibrahim in the men's 400m race, and Ashraf Al-Seify in the hammer throw event.
Qatar's silver medals came through Ashraf Othman in the men's 400m, Omar Dawood in the men's 110m hurdles, and Ahmed Al-Seify in the hammer throw competition.
With Friday's results, Qatar's athletics team increased its overall tally at the Games to 20 medals, comprising eight gold, seven silver, and five bronze medals, making athletics the country's most successful discipline so far at the tournament.
The Qatari team will look to add to its medal haul on Saturday during the third day of athletics competitions at the Gulf Games Doha 2026. (QNA)
