MOEHE Honors Private Schools for Partaking in the Community Responsibility Project
Doha, January 18 (QNA) - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) held a ceremony to honor private schools and kindergartens that contributed to the Community Responsibility Project.
The ceremony was attended by HE Minister of Education and Higher Education, Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater and HE Undersecretary of MOEHE, Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, along with Their Excellencies Members of the Shura Council, representatives of embassies and diplomatic missions, investors, school license holders, principals of private schools and kindergartens, in addition to an educational delegation from the United Arab Emirates.
The event was held to recognize private schools and kindergartens for their qualitative initiatives in providing scores of students with tuition-free and subsidized study opportunities, thus, promoting solidarity and building a strategic partnership between the national education system's public and private wings.
The ceremony began with a speech by Assistant Undersecretary for Special Education at MOEHE, Omar bin Abdulaziz Al Naama, in which he affirmed that this project embodies a genuine partnership between the state and the private sector, adding that in the State of Qatar, education is a shared national responsibility and an authentic investment in the human capital.
Al Naama said that investors' offering students with thousands of studying opportunities at schools reflect the Qatari society's deeply rooted values, based on conscience, national commitment, and the conviction that a student's stable academic career forms the cornerstone of society's prosperity.
Going over the project's progress, Director of the Private Schools and Kindergarten Administration and acting director of the private schools licensing department, Dr. Rania Mohamed presented a comprehensive overview of the successes achieved since the project's launch in October 2025.
She noted that it began as a limited initiative that provided studying opportunities for 10 students, yet today it has reached an unprecedented achievement of providing more than 4,000 educational opportunities, including free of charge, discounted, and voucher-value school enrollments.
Dr. Rania Mohamed noted that the project has expanded to include nine diverse educational curricula with the participation of 46 schools and kindergartens.
She also announced exceptional initiatives that entail offering free of charge and discounted after-hours classes in cooperation with the Syrian School and the British Modern International School, in a fruitful cooperation with Qatari businessmen and women.
The ceremony also witnessed the official launch of a document titled the first edition of the corporate social responsibility framework for private schools and kindergartens, which took about a year and a half to formulate into an organized reference that defines the project's goals and governing principles, most notably providing equal educational opportunities for deserving students, reducing financial burdens on families, and establishing a culture of sharing and sustainability in the private sector.
The official launch of the document was accompanied by an announcement that an annual award will be created starting from the 2026-2027 academic year, to recognize the most distinguished schools in this framework.
The ceremony featured a video highlighting the project's achievements, in addition to a poetry recitation segment on belonging and loyalty to the homeland, which was delivered by students from Newton International Academy.
The honoring ceremony wrapped up with HE Minister of Education and Higher Education, Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater handing out certificates of appreciation and commemorative shields to contributing entities, for going beyond just providing mere financial support, and instead making this project a national investment project that contributes to realizing the Qatar National Vision 2030, by providing a safe and sustainable educational environment for students and making social responsibility an integral part of private education.
