Qatari Swimming Team Wins Two Medals at Asian Aquatics Championships in India
Doha, September 29 (QNA) - The Qatari swimming team won two medals (a gold and a bronze) at the 11th Asian Aquatics Championships, being held in Ahmedabad, India, and continuing until October 11.
Swimmer Ali Tamer won the gold medal in the 50m freestyle with a time of 22.45 seconds, giving Qatar its first gold medal in the history of its participation in the championship.
Swimmer Mohammed Mahmoud also won the bronze medal in the 50m breaststroke with a time of 28.09 seconds.
The Qatari swimming team are represented in the championship by four swimmers: Ali Tamer, Mohammed Mahmoud, Hamza Shalaan, and Abdullah Al Ghamri.
The Asian Aquatics Championships, in which 25 countries are participating, includes swimming, diving, water polo, and artistic swimming. (QNA)
