Italian Jannik Sinner, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka Top World Tennis Rankings

London, June 09 (QNA) - Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner topped the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) world rankings released Monday, while Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka retained her lead in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) rankings.

Sinner added 500 points to his total, bringing his tally to 10,880 points, maintaining the top spot in the rankings despite his loss in the French Open (Roland-Garros) final on Sunday to Spain's Carlos Alcaraz, who rose to second place with 8,850 points.

Germany's Alexander Zverev remained in third place, which he dropped to in the previous rankings, with 6,385 points.

UK's Jack Draper advanced to fourth with 4,800 points, and Serbia's Novak Djokovic climbed to fifth with 4,630 points.

Italy's Lorenzo Musetti moved up to sixth with 4,560 points.

American Taylor Fritz was one of the biggest losers in the new rankings, dropping three places to seventh with 4,485 points after an early exit from the French Open.

Fritz's compatriot Tommy Paul moved up four places to a career-high eighth position with 3,510 points after reaching the quarterfinals in Paris.

Danish player Holger Rune climbed one spot to ninth with 3,440 points, and Australian Alex de Minaur completed the top ten with 3,285 points.

In the women's rankings, Sabalenka held on to the top spot despite losing the French Open final to US's Coco Gauff. Sabalenka leads with 11,553 points, while Gauff rose to second with 8,083 points.

American Jessica Pegula ranks third with 6,483 points, followed by Italian Jasmine Paolini in fourth with 4,805 points.

Chinese Zheng Qinwen moved up to fifth with 4,668 points, and Russian Mirra Andreeva is sixth with 4,636 points.

Polish Iga Swiatek dropped two spots to seventh with 4,618 points.

American Madison Keys ranks eighth with 4,484 points, while Spain's Paula Badosa moved up one spot to ninth with 3,684 points, overtaking US's Emma Navarro, who fell to tenth with 3,649 points. (QNA)
