Lebanon's PM Says Recovery and Stabilization Efforts Underway
Beirut, February 26 (QNA) - Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said his government has successfully slowed the country's economic collapse and set Lebanon on a new path following one year in office.
In an interview marking the government's first anniversary, Salam described his cabinet as foundational for rebuilding the state, acknowledging that achievements fall short of public expectations but emphasized that steps toward recovery have begun.
He highlighted reforms aimed at restoring state authority, implementing accountability measures, and setting Lebanon on a path to economic stabilization.
Salam also underscored progress in consolidating state control over southern regions, describing the reassertion of authority over south of the Litani River as a historic step, with a second phase targeting the area between the Litani and Awali rivers planned within four months, contingent on sufficient resources and support for the army.
