Doha, December 22 (QNA) - The Qatar Football Association (QFA) has announced the fixtures for the preliminary round of the 2025-26 Amir Cup, which will be played in a knockout format, with four teams advancing to the round of 16.
Matches will begin on January 10 across four stadiums: Al Sailiya vs. Muaither at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, Al Markhiya vs. Mesaimeer at Thani bin Jassim Stadium, Al Khartiyat vs. Al Bidda at Hamad bin Khalifa Stadium, and Al Waab vs. Lusail at Hamad Al Kabeer Stadium.
The knockout ties will go to 30 minutes of extra time if drawn after normal time, followed by a penalty shootout if needed.
The preliminary round matchups are based on the final standings of the 2024-25 Qatari Second Division, with Al Sailiya, Al Markhiya, Al Khartiyat, Al Waab, Lusail, Al Bidda, Mesaimeer, and Muaither occupying first to eighth places respectively. (QNA)
