Brussels, August 22 (QNA) - The European Union (EU) has condemned israeli settler attacks in the West Bank, expressing its concern over the deteriorating situation in the village of Qusra, south of Nablus, where Palestinian families have been trapped in their homes for nearly two weeks due to settler attacks.
In a statement issued by the European External Action Service in Brussels, the EU explained that the events in the village reflect an escalation in violence perpetrated by extremist settlers, including intimidation, harassment, property damage, and physical assault, aimed at forcing Palestinians to leave their homes.
The EU also expressed its rejection of recent statements by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir regarding the Gaza Strip, considering that inflammatory and offensive rhetoric does not contribute to calming the situation.
For the fourteenth consecutive day, settlers continue to besiege a number of Palestinian homes in the town of Qusra, south of Nablus in the West Bank, under the protection of the occupation army, preventing families from leaving or entering them, turning one of them into a military barracks and taking control of it, amid the declaration of the area as a closed military zone.
