Turkiye's Exports to Africa Surge to $13.3B in First Seven Months

Ankara, August 22 (QNA) - Turkiye's exports to African countries rose 12.6% year-on-year in the first seven months of the year, reaching $13.3 billion.

Osman Aksoy, coordinator chairman of the Turkiye-Africa Business Councils at the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkiye (DEIK), said Turkish exports to the continent rose 16.3% in July from the same month a year earlier, reaching $2.3 billion.

Egypt topped African markets for Turkish exports in July, with shipments to the country rising 49.3% year-on-year to $426.2 million.

From January to July, Turkiye's exports to Egypt rose 26.1%, exceeding $2.3 billion.

Nigeria posted the strongest growth among the major African markets, with Turkish exports rising 52.1% in the first seven months to $453.2 million. In July alone, exports to Nigeria rose 7.5% to $60.2 million.

Exports to South Africa also rose 31.3% in the first seven months, reaching $479 million. Libya also emerged as a major market, with Turkish exports reaching $1.59 billion, up 2.3%.

In Tunisia, Turkish exports exceeded $720 million from January through July, up 9.9%. July exports alone stood at $101 million, a 0.3% increase.

Niger, meanwhile, recorded a striking 80.5% increase in Turkish exports in July, reaching $255 million. Exports rose 8% in the first seven months, exceeding $302 million. (QNA)
