Doha, December 06 (QNA) - Portugal made it to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 quarterfinals after their rambling victory over Switzerland 6-1 in their Tuesday match at Lusail Stadium at the end of the round of 16.

Portugal's goals came by Goncalo Ramos (hattrick) in the 17th, 51st, and 67 minutes, Pepe in the 33rd minute, Raphael Guerreiro in the 55th minute, and Rafael Leao in the 90+1 minute, while Switzerland's only goal came by Manuel Akanji in the 58th minute.

Portugal qualified for the round of 16 at the top of Group H with 6 points as they beat Ghana 3-2, beat Uruguay 2-0, and lost to South Korea 1-2.
