Doha, November 21 (QNA) - The Netherlands head coach Van Gaal said he was happy that his team managed to overcome Senegal 2-0, in their first match of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Van Gaal said in the press conference that the players weren't at their best, making the victory even more important. He stressed that the opening match is all about the result regardless of the performance.

He noted that the match was all about defending well rather than keeping position. He also reserved special praise for Memphis Depay, who was a second half substitute, saying his introduction was the match's turning point. (QNA)
