Egypt's Asal and Orfi Win QTerminals Qatar Classic Titles
Doha, September 18 (QNA) - Egypt's Mostafa Asal and Amina Orfi have won the men's and women's titles at the 2026 QTerminals Qatar Classic Squash Championship in Doha.
Secretary-General of Qatar Squash Federation Tareq Zainal and CEO of Professional Squash Association Alex Gough presented awards to the winners in a closing ceremony.
World No. 1 Asal defeated France's Victor Crouin 3-0 in the men's final, winning 11-5, 11-6, 11-2 in 44 minutes. The victory secured his first Qatar Classic title and the 30th PSA title of his career.
Asal, 25, had previously reached the Doha final twice, losing in 2024 and 2025.
In the women's final, 19-year-old world champion Amina Orfi beat compatriot and world No. 1 Hania El Hammamy 3-2 after a 107-minute match, winning 7-11, 11-7, 11-8, 7-11, 12-10.
The title was Orfi's first in Qatar and the 15th of her professional career. The victory also saw her become the world No. 1 in women's squash for the first time.
The tournament was held over a week at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex and was organized by the Qatar Squash Federation. (QNA)
