OIC Welcomes UNGA Decision Allowing Palestine to Participate Remotely
Jeddah, September 18 (QNA) - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has welcomed a UN General Assembly decision allowing Palestine to participate in the 81st session through a recorded message after the United States barred its delegation from attending in person.
The OIC said the decision, backed by 152 countries, reflects international support for Palestine's right to participate and respect for international law and the obligations of the UN host country.
The organization called on the United States to reverse its decision, saying it conflicts with the UN Charter, the UN Headquarters Agreement and relevant resolutions.
The OIC said it would continue its engagement during the General Assembly session and high-level week to support Palestinian rights, broader recognition of the State of Palestine and its full UN membership. (QNA)
