Manama, September 06 (QNA) - The State of Qatar participated in the 89th meeting of the Gulf Health Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the 12th meeting of the GCC Health Ministers' Committee, held in Bahrain today.
The delegation of the State of Qatar was headed by HE Minister of Public Health Mansoor bin Ebrahim Al Mahmoud.
The two meetings addressed several topics aimed at enhancing joint Gulf action in the health sector. The GCC Gulf Health Council reviewed the budget and initiatives planned for 2027.
The GCC Health Ministers' Committee meeting also discussed several key topics, most notably follow-up on the Supreme Council of the GCC's health decisions on the strategic storage of food, medicines, and other supplies, as well as the examination of expatriate workers.
The meeting reviewed the action plan of the GCC Gulf Health Council (2026-2030), Gulf Strategy for Combating Drugs (2025-2028), the project to establish the Gulf Centre for Food Risk Assessment, in addition to following up on the implementation of the decisions of the 11th meeting of the GCC Health Ministers' Committee.
