Bishkek, September 6 (QNA) - The Qatar Al Gannas Association participated in the sixth edition of the Nomad Games, which concluded today in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek, bringing together thousands of participants from around the world.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Qatar Al Gannas Association, stated that the association participated with a large pavilion featuring a photo exhibition showcasing its achievements, including the campaign to reintroduce falcons to the wild, the Qatar Falcon Genome Project, and its international participation in previous editions of the Games.

He explained that the association's pavilion introduced attendees to the heritage of falconry in Qatar and its role and efforts in this field. He noted that the association supported several competitions at Nomad, such as falconry, Saluki racing, and drawing.

The Nomad Games featured a wide range of competitions inspired by nomadic life, including equestrian sports, wrestling, archery, and traditional folk games, alongside cultural and artistic performances highlighting music, handicrafts, traditional clothing, and folk tales that have shaped the identity of nomadic communities.

The Nomad Games aim to revive traditional sports and games associated with nomadic cultures, preserve their cultural heritage, and pass it on to future generations.

The Nomad Games were first launched in Kyrgyzstan in 2014, with 600 competitors representing 19 countries. Since then, they have expanded into an international event, attracting thousands of athletes from nearly 100 countries.

The Games' significance extends beyond the sporting aspect, as they provide an opportunity to showcase the cultural heritage of peoples whose history is intertwined with nomadic life, and to preserve the traditional games and practices passed down through generations for centuries. (QNA)
