Occupied Jerusalem, September 25 (QNA) - Tens of thousands of Palestinians performed Friday prayer today at Al-Aqsa Mosque, amidst stringent military measures imposed by Israeli occupation forces.

The Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem reported that, since the early morning, Israeli occupation forces had tightened measures at military checkpoints surrounding occupied Jerusalem, as well as at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City. They imposed restrictions on worshippers entering the mosque, prevented dozens of young men from reaching the site to pray, and stopped and searched a number of them.

It is noteworthy that occupation authorities prevent thousands of Palestinians from the occupied West Bank governorates from reaching Jerusalem to pray at Al-Aqsa, requiring special permits to cross the military checkpoints surrounding the Holy City.
