Palestinian President, Arab League Chief Confer on Unfolding Palestinian Developments
Cairo, September 16 (QNA) - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met Wednesday at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo with Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy to discuss developments in the Palestinian issue, the rapidly evolving situation on the Palestinian theater, as well as the political, humanitarian and security challenges posed by the current phase.
Abbas took stock of the priorities of the current phase and ways to act on the international theater to solicit and strengthen the vast countenance the cause of Palestine receives in the global optics.
For his part, Fahmy stressed that any attempts to alter the geographic and demographic character of the Palestinian territories are a non-starter, suggesting that fending off these dangerous attempts and plans is an Arab and global responsibility.
It behooves all advocates for the two-state solution to counter these perilous moves, Fahmy underlined, reemphasizing the importance of rallying efforts and addressing the human conscience to cease the plots being hatched by the Israeli occupation government aimed at annexing the West Bank through intensifying settlement, displacement, taking over lands, as well as imposing siege on cities and rendering them secluded.
Fahmy confirmed that the Palestinian cause is a fulcrum issue for the League, underlining that he is committed to turning this unyielding belief into action in the upcoming phase, which necessitates serious action to reach a lasting resolution for this cause with all its aspects and dimensions.
