Pretoria, September 14 (QNA) - At least 21 people were killed in a collision on the highway between Prince Albert and Leeu-Gamka in South Africa's Western Cape province, local media reported today.
The severity of the accident forced authorities to close the highway in both directions, urging motorists to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
The cause of the accident has not yet been revealed.
Despite the quality of its road network, South Africa experiences a high rate of road fatalities due to speeding, non-compliance with traffic regulations, and failure to wear seatbelts. (QNA)
