With Qatari Support, New Building of Islamic Community Council in Kosovo Opens
Pristina, September 10 (QNA) - With support from the State of Qatar, a new building of the Islamic Community was opened Thursday in Gjilan, the Republic of Kosovo.
The opening ceremony was attended by a delegation from the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs led by Director of the Department of Islamic Affairs Mohammed Jabr Al Mannai, and HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Albania Jabor bin Ali Al Dosari, along with HE Head of the Islamic Community and Grand Mufti of Kosovo Shaikh Naim Ternava, and a number of officials and religious figures.
Al Mannai said the new building consists of five floors on an area of over five thousand square meters, and was designed to be an integrated center for religious, educational, cultural and social activities, in order to meet the needs of the local community and enhance the presence of active Islamic institutions.
He added that the project, which cost about 2.4 million euros, embodies the vision of the State of Qatar in supporting endowment and sustainable development initiatives, and consolidating the role of Islamic institutions in serving communities.
In the same context, HE Ambassador Al Dosari affirmed that the project represents a model of fruitful cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Kosovo, reflecting the strength of the relations that unite the two countries.
For his part, HE Shaikh Ternava commended the importance of the project, stressing that Qatar's continued support for the Islamic Community has contributed to developing the institutional structure and enhancing its ability to perform its societal mission.
In turn, Mayor of Gjilan Alban Hyseni appreciated the efforts made to complete this monument, which will contribute to supporting cultural, social and religious activities in the city.
The funding of this cultural landmark comes within the framework of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs' commitment to implementing the objectives of its strategic plan to enhance international partnerships and consolidate the values of moderation and centrism, in line with the pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030.
It also aims to enhance the international standing of the State of Qatar as an active partner in supporting sustainable development and humanitarian work. (QNA)
