Sudanese PM Meets Quintet Mechanism Delegation to Advance National Dialogue
Khartoum, September 10 (QNA) - Sudanese Prime Minister Kamil Idris met Thursday with the visiting delegation of the Quintet Mechanism in Khartoum, where discussions underscored the mechanism's vital role in supporting intra-Sudanese dialogue.
Idris outlined government measures to ensure the success of the upcoming dialogue, emphasizing that the process belongs solely to the Sudanese people and that the administration is fully committed to implementing its outcomes to achieve peace and resolve the current crisis.
For their part, the Quintet delegation reaffirmed their readiness to facilitate a successful Sudanese-led dialogue, expressing steadfast support for Sudan's unity and sovereignty while rejecting any parallel entities.
The Quintet Mechanism, comprising the United Nations, African Union, IGAD, League of Arab States, and European Union, leads international efforts to drive an inclusive political process and end the armed conflict that erupted in April 2023. (QNA)
