Gaza, August 31 (QNA) - Despite the extraordinary challenges facing the Gaza Strip including the impact of the war and restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid and essential supplies Qatar Charity, with the support of generous donors, continued to deliver high-impact education programmes and projects throughout 2025 and 2026.

These initiatives have helped sustain access to education and provide a safer, more stable learning environment for displaced and conflict-affected children. Around 24,000 students and education staff benefited from projects delivered during this period, while education projects currently under preparation and implementation are expected to reach approximately 220,000 people soon.

Completed initiatives included the distribution of 9,631 fully equipped school bags containing stationery, as well as clothing for 4,873 children. Qatar Charity also distributed 2,055 learning packs to students and teachers. Designed as practical, condensed alternatives to conventional textbooks, the packs contain educational materials and lessons covering both the first and second semesters. In addition, the organization supported temporary schools by providing students with 14,560 nutritious meals and equipping 60 temporary classrooms with whiteboards and cleaning and sanitization supplies.

Following the launch of its Education 2026 campaign Qatar Charity is currently implementing the "Back to the Classroom 2" project. To date, the organization has distributed 500 fully equipped school bags containing stationery and 50 classroom whiteboards. The project aims to provide a total of 6,500 fully equipped school bags, 6,500 learning packs and 6,500 individual writing boards. It will also equip 60 temporary classrooms with whiteboards and cleaning and sanitization supplies, helping to create a safe and suitable learning environment for children in displacement areas.

Preparations are also under way to launch two high-impact projects soon. The first, the "Integrated Support for Schoolchildren" project, has an estimated budget of QAR 4.7 million.

It aims to provide 18,250 fully equipped school bags with learning packs, distribute 40,000 school meals and deliver psychosocial support activities for 8,000 boys and girls across the governorates of the Gaza Strip.

These interventions will strengthen children’s ability to continue their education and cope with the challenges created by current conditions.

The second, the "Temporary Learning Environment" project, has an estimated budget of nearly QAR 4.8 million. It aims to improve conditions in temporary schools by providing 4,000 double desks, each seating two students; installing 80 drinking-water points with storage tanks; and constructing and equipping 160 temporary classrooms.
