Occupied Jerusalem, August 03 (QNA) - The Israeli occupation forces on Monday thrust deeper into the 541-day embattled Nur Shams refugee camp in Tulkarm city in the West Bank, deploying military reinforcements that included heavy bulldozers and vehicles.

The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) cited local sources as reporting that occupation soldiers forced inhabitants of the Jabal Al-Salihin area east of the camp to move out of their homes under the pretext of conducting military operations, amid the possibility of blasts in the area.

The camp is mired in massive devastation of its infrastructure, alongside road-clearing operations and grave damage to homes and property, after hundreds of houses had been demolished and burned.

This comes in the wake of extensive military deployment, along with the constant sealing off of entrances and perimeters, as Palestinians have been blocked from reaching the area amid the firing of live rounds at anyone attempting to enter.

By the end of July 2026, the occupation army decided to expand its onslaught on the Tulkarm, Nur Shams, and Jenin refugee camps until the end of September.

The escalation is part of the ongoing Israeli armed aggression against the embattled city and its camps, with ubiquitous Israeli infantry units that imposed a siege on the two camps, deployed along Nablus Street, took over several residential buildings, and turned them into military barracks.
