Damascus, August 25 (QNA) - Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa met Tuesday with Mazloum Abdi, commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), to discuss a raft of matters related to the SDF's integration into state institutions.

They addressed steps related to the upcoming phase to promote the nation's presence, as well as security and stability.

The meeting came following Abdi's declaration at an earlier press conference of the end of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF)'s mission and its disbandment as an independent military force after completing the integration of its forces into Syrian army brigades, affirming the move toward a new phase under the title of peace, stability and nation-building.

This step comes as part of the implementation process of the January 29 agreement between the government and the SDF, which provides for the latter's phased integration into Syrian state institutions. (QNA)
