Syria Slams Israeli Defense Minister's Incursion Into Its Territory
Damascus, August 25 (QNA) - Syria has condemned the Israeli defense minister's entry into its territory and transgression of international borders as a violation of the nation's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In a statement Tuesday, the Foreign Ministry said these aggressive actions amount to unequivocal provocation and run afoul of international law and the UN Charter, as well as the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, which requires respect for the ceasefire lines and refraining from crossing them.
Consequently, the ministry called on the international community to undertake its legal and political responsibilities and take essential measures to prod the Israeli occupation into ceasing its violations, immediately and thoroughly withdrawing from the Syrian territories, returning to the disengagement line and respecting Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
