Doha, August 20 (QNA) - Al Rayyan defeated Lusail 1-0 today in the second match of the opening round of the 2026-2027 Qatar Football League (Doha Bank Stars League), played at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium.

Gabriel Pereira scored the only goal of the match in the 43rd minute with a low left-footed shot that the Lusail goalkeeper was unable to keep out.

The result gave Al Rayyan three points from their opening match, while Lusail suffered their first defeat in their maiden season in the top flight. (QNA)
