Riyadh, August 17 (QNA) - Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah and his Sudanese counterpart, Mohieddin Salem Ahmed Ibrahim, today signed a document establishing the Saudi-Sudanese Coordination Council.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that the council was established as part of the two countries' efforts to raise the level of cooperation and coordination between them. It will serve as an effective institutional platform for developing and strengthening bilateral relations and as a framework bringing together relevant entities from both sides to work toward tangible outcomes through clearly defined initiatives, projects and objectives, thereby enhancing cooperation and integration and fulfilling the aspirations of the leaderships and peoples of both countries.

In a related development, the Saudi and Sudanese foreign ministers today held a meeting of the Follow-up and Political Consultation Committee between the two countries.

During the meeting, held in Riyadh, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and ways to develop and strengthen them across various fields. They also discussed the latest regional developments and exchanged views on them. (QNA)
