Beirut, August 15 (QNA) - The casualty toll from the airstrikes conducted by the Israeli forces on southern Lebanon Saturday has climbed to 11 deaths and 19 wounded, among them children and women, according to a statement by the Public Health Emergency Operations Center (PHEOC), operating under Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health.

The statement added that the Israeli aerial offensive on the town of Deir Al-Zahrani in Nabatiyeh District left 4 people dead and 17 others injured, including a child and 11 women, according to the final toll.

It further noted that the toll, together with the casualties from the Israeli airstrike on the town of Ansar in Nabatiyeh District, brought the overall casualty toll from the Israeli airstrikes on South Lebanon that day to 11 deaths and 19 wounded, including children and women.

Meanwhile, Lebanese President Gen. Joseph Aoun condemned Israel's relentless assaults on areas across southern Lebanon, particularly in Nabatiyeh and its periphery.

He likewise railed against the repeated breaches of both the framework deal and the Military Coordination Group's action, in addition to violating international laws concerning civilian protection, which led to the martyrdom of an entire family from the town of Ansar.

In a statement issued by the Lebanese presidency, Aoun said these violations send a conspicuous message to the negotiation path, along with the American efforts aimed at enforcing the agreement.

For his part, Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri affirmed that the two Israeli airstrikes on the towns of Ansar and Deir Al-Zahrani, which resulted in killing a family with all its members, mostly women and children, fall under what he described as the unabated Israeli war on the south.

In a statement issued by the Parliament, Berri contended that these attacks prove that both Israel's political and military levels give no qualms about the agreements, laws and efforts aimed at ending the war and tension in Lebanon and the region. (QNA)
