Ramallah, August 15 (QNA) - The Israeli occupation forces upped the ante Saturday by conducting rampages in different parts of the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.

This happened amid the rising settler rampages against Palestinians, which resulted in several Palestinians being injured and others being detained.

According to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA), a 16-year-old Palestinian was injured after settlers badly beat him near the Ain Shibli checkpoint, southeast of Tubas.

In Bethlehem governorate, Israeli soldiers raided Aida and Al-Azza refugee camps north of the city, as well as the towns of Al-Ubeidiya, Dar Salah, Ash-Shawawra and Za'atara to the east, and patrolled their streets, with no arrests reported.

In Jenin governorate, Israeli forces detained four Palestinians, including three members of the same family, during a raid on a residential building in the vicinity of the Arab American University.

They also detained a young man from the Al-Marah neighborhood in the city of Jenin.

Early today, Israeli forces raided the village of Bir Al-Basha, south of Jenin, and stormed and searched multiple homes, smashing their contents and dehumanizing several residents.

Israeli forces also detained a man from Shweika, north of Tulkarm, after raiding his home.

In the village of Al Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, several Palestinians, including children, suffered suffocation after Israeli soldiers fired toxic gas canisters during their raid on the village, following a settlers' rampage in the Shaab al-Louz neighborhood northwest of the village and their attempt to raid a number of homes.

Israeli forces also detained a young man from Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, after assaulting him in the Batn Al-Hawa neighborhood.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission (WSRC), Israeli soldiers and settlers carried out 2,256 rampages against Palestinians, their lands and property during July, including 1,458 rampages carried out by Israeli forces and 798 by settlers.

The Commission said the assaults were concentrated in the governorates of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, with 260 attacks, Nablus with 247, Jenin with 190, Bethlehem with 185 and Hebron with 170.

It noted that these figures reflect an integration of Israeli military force with settler attacks, through the provision of protection and support that allows the rampages to expand and turns their results into continued realities on the ground. (QNA)
