Colombia Earthquake Death Toll Rises to at Least 218
Bogota, August 11 (QNA) - Colombia's earthquake death toll rose to at least 218 on Tuesday, as rescue teams continued searching for survivors beneath the rubble of collapsed buildings.
At least 95 people were killed in Cali, where dozens of buildings were damaged or destroyed. A hospital also suffered partial collapse, forcing around 600 patients to receive treatment outside.
Authorities reported 72 deaths in Pereira, 38 in Valle del Cauca, and 13 in Choco.
The 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck the country's coffee-growing region on Monday, the strongest to hit Colombia in decades. (QNA)
