Palestinian Endowments Ministry Reports 26 Al-Aqsa Incursions, 84 Blocks of Call to Prayer at Ibrahimi Mosque in June
Ramallah, July 05 (QNA) - The Palestinian Ministry of Endowments revealed Sunday the spike in the Israeli occupation's violations against the Islamic holy sites through June 2026.
In its monthly report, the Ministry highlighted that Israeli occupation soldiers raided Al-Aqsa Mosque 26 times during June and precluded calls to prayer at the Ibrahimi Mosque 84 times.
This was a perpetuated policy intended to target freedom of worship and the historic and legal status quo of sacred places, the report stated.
The report further noted that 4,212 Israeli settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque through the Dung Gate during morning and evening incursions, while being vigorously protected by occupation forces.
These operations, the report said, were concomitantly being conducted amid rising calls by extremist Temple Mount groups to step up incursions into the mosque and impose a new reality inside the compound.
The report pointed out that occupation soldiers ramped up their measures against worshipers, particularly on Fridays, through storming the perimeters of the Al-Qibli Prayer Hall and the Dome of the Rock during sermons and prayers, along with a continued stranglehold on worshippers at the mosque's gates.
In the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, the report documented the incursion of 950 occupation soldiers into the mosque during June, alongside the prevention of the call to prayer 84 times.
Occupation soldiers have continued to shut down the eastern gate and cover its windows since early 2025, the report asserted, adding that they likewise closed Gate No. 7 to endowment staff, amid ongoing restrictions on worshippers and workers at the mosque.
The report said Israeli authorities installed a roof over the compound of the Ibrahimi Mosque without coordination with the Palestinian Ministry of Endowments or the Hebron municipality, in what it deemed as a new breach of the existing historical and legal status quo.
It added that Israeli forces detained the director of the Ibrahimi Mosque and the head of its custodians, banning them from the site for 12 days.
The report further shared that settler attacks also targeted mosques in other governorates, where settlers committed arson against two mosques in the towns of Jaljulia and Mazari Al-Nubani, north of Ramallah.
It indicated that groups of settlers intruded into Al-Ra's Mosque in the al-Jaabari neighborhood of Hebron, hoisted Israeli flags on its walls and rooftops, played music over loudspeakers inside its courtyards, and prevented worshippers from accessing the mosque in addition to performing religious rites.
