Nvidia Unveils AI Tool That Detects Fake Videos at Rapid Speed
Washington, July 21 (QNA) - NVIDIA has unveiled a new AI-powered tool capable of detecting manipulated or AI-generated videos in as little as 22 milliseconds, in a move aimed at helping curb the rapid spread of synthetic visual content.
The company said the new technology was not intended to replace traditional journalistic verification or digital forensic analysis. Instead, it is designed to serve as an additional verification tool for media organizations and enterprises, enabling them to quickly assess the authenticity and credibility of videos before publishing them.
The tool is available as part of the NVIDIA NIM Microservices suite, allowing organizations to integrate it seamlessly into their existing infrastructure and production workflows without the need to build dedicated content verification platforms from scratch.
The detector analyzes videos frame by frame and assigns each clip a probability score indicating the likelihood that it was generated or altered using AI. Running on NVIDIA RTX GPUs, it can process 1080p video in as little as 22 milliseconds, making it well suited for real-time verification in live media production environments. NVIDIA also said the model remains effective even after common processing steps such as compression, resizing, cropping, and re-encoding.
According to the company, the new detector ranked first on the AI GVD Bench, a benchmark for evaluating AI-generated video detection systems, outperforming a broad range of both open-source and commercial alternatives in tests involving videos created by a variety of generative AI models. (QNA)
