Lebanon, US Hold Talks on Implementing Security Provisions of Lebanon-Israel Framework Agreement
Beirut, June 29 (QNA) - Commander of the Lebanese Armed Forces Rodolphe Haykal met on Monday with US Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander, Admiral Brad Cooper, currently visiting Beirut, to discuss the latest developments in Lebanon and the implementation of the security provisions of the Lebanon-Israel framework agreement.
The two sides also reviewed prospects for expanding military cooperation. Haykal expressed appreciation for continued US support and stressed the need of ongoing cooperation in maintaining Lebanon's security and stability.
The framework agreement between Lebanon and Israeli entity includes security arrangements, the disarmament of armed groups, the redeployment of the Lebanese Armed Forces, reconstruction of affected areas with international support, measures to revive Lebanon's economy, the establishment of direct communication channels between the two sides, and confidence-building measures aimed at paving the way for lasting peace.
