Palestinian President Emphasizes Priority of Consolidating Gaza Ceasefire, Aid Delivery
Ramallah, June 26 (QNA) - Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas discussed the latest political developments and the current situation in Palestine, as well as issues of mutual interest, in a phone call today with his Cypriot counterpart, Nikos Christodoulides.
During the call, the Palestinian President stressed the priority of consolidating the ceasefire, delivering aid, and securing an Israeli withdrawal, thus moving towards recovery and reconstruction in the Gaza Strip.
He affirmed the State of Palestine's support for the implementation of US President Donald Trump's plan and UN Security Council Resolution 2803, emphasizing the need to preserve the sovereign and legal role of the State of Palestine in the Gaza Strip, of which it is an integral part.
He reiterated the necessity of mobilizing international efforts to halt settlement expansion, settler terrorism, and all unilateral actions, and to release withheld Palestinian funds.
For his part, the Cypriot President affirmed his country's support for the two-state solution based on international law and the importance of upholding security, stability, and peace among all parties in the region. (QNA)
