Doha, June 23 (QNA) - The Qatar Theatre Troupe on Monday evening presented the play "Al-Madina Al-Fasila" (The Dividing City) as part of the competitive lineup of the 38th Doha Theatre Festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture through the Theater Affairs Center at Al Mayassa Theatre in the Qatar National Convention Centre.

Assistant Undersecretary for Cultural Affairs at the Ministry of Culture, Mubarak bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, said in remarks that the Doha Theatre Festival represents one of the most prominent cultural and artistic pillars in Qatar and reflects a long-standing theatrical tradition that has contributed over decades to strengthening the national cultural scene.

He noted the ministry's commitment to continuing the festival, emphasizing its importance in supporting theatrical and artistic activity and its role as a landmark of Qatar's cultural leadership.

He added that the festival serves as a platform bringing together all elements of theatrical production, including writers, directors and performers, helping enrich the cultural landscape and support local creativity.

Al Khalifa expressed hope that the participating productions would meet high artistic standards and stimulate thought while enriching cultural experience.

He also reaffirmed Qatar's support for young talent and its encouragement of emerging artists to further develop their skills, thereby strengthening the continuity and impact of Qatari theatre within society. (QNA)
