US Vice President: Significant Progress in Negotiations with Iran in Past Few Hours
Burgenstock Resort/Switzerland, June 21 (QNA) - US Vice President J.D. Vance said Sunday today that negotiations between Washington and Tehran have made significant progress in the past few hours.
In remarks made before the meeting between his country's delegation and representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran, mediated by Pakistan and Qatar, at the Burgenstock resort in Switzerland, Vance added that he expects this round of talks to achieve further progress in the coming hours.
He stated that strained relations between the countries of the region and Iran have been a major factor in regional instability, noting that everyone can now work together to promote peace and prosperity for all.
Vance added that today's meeting is historic and unprecedented outside of Islamabad. He noted that the Iranian and American leaderships have not met at this high level in recent months, and that President Donald Trump has asked the delegation to begin a new chapter in changing and expanding our relationship with the Iranian people.
