Jordan, Algeria Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Affairs
Amman, June 21 (QNA) - Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi met on Sunday with his Algerian counterpart Ahmed Attaf during his visit to Jordan to discuss the evolving situation in the region.
The ministers also touched on ongoing de-escalation efforts aimed at addressing the root causes of tension and achieving lasting security and stability, as well as deepening bilateral relationship and the evolving situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Both sides underscored the imperative to halt unlawful Israeli measures in the occupied West Bank, uphold stability in Gaza, and ensure the sustained and sufficient flow of humanitarian aid into the Palestinian enclave on a sustainable basis to end the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe.
In addition, Safadi and Attaf stressed the importance of stopping settlement expansion, settler violence, land seizure, and attempts to alter the historical and legal status quo in the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
The meeting reviewed preparations for the Consultative Meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers and the Council of the League of Arab States at the Ministerial Level (Resumed 165th Ordinary Session). Both ministers underlined that these two meetings are significant for deepening joint Arab action in confronting shared challenges.
They concurred on the importance of continued consultation and coordination to follow up on efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation and address both regional and international issues of mutual concern. (QNA)
