SpaceX Deploys Mini Satellites to Orbit to Enhance Internet Access in Remote Areas
Washington, June 21 (QNA) - SpaceX successfully launched 24 new advanced V2 Mini satellites of its Starlink constellation into low Earth orbit on Sunday.
The company said in a statement that the Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, and that its first stage successfully returned approximately 8 minutes and 32 seconds after liftoff, landing on a droneship in the Pacific Ocean.
This latest launch aims to continue expanding the massive Starlink satellite constellation in space, through which SpaceX seeks to augment bandwidth efficiency, reduce latency for internet services, and deliver high-speed connectivity and communications to remote and underserved areas around the world that lack traditional ground infrastructure.
SpaceX added that the launch represents its 74th mission since the beginning of 2026, and the 655th mission in the Falcon 9 rocket family's operational record, noting that the rocket successfully deployed the satellites into low Earth orbit to begin operations and expand global high-speed internet coverage.
By and large, Starlink is a satellite internet service provided by SpaceX, designed to deliver ultra-fast internet to users worldwide through a network of thousands of small satellites in low Earth orbit. (QNA)
