Vancouver, June 18 (QNA) - Canada's head coach Jesse Marsch stressed the importance of the upcoming match against Qatar in the second round of Group B matches at the FIFA 2026 World Cup, emphasizing that every point will be crucial in the race to qualify for the next round.

During the pre-match press conference, Marsch said that the teams in Group B were evenly matched after the first round ended with 1-1 draws. He said, "now though it’s all about this match with Qatar. The group is so tight and that means that every moment, every point matters.”

He added that Canada failed to impose their style of play effectively during the first half of their match against Bosnia and Herzegovina and stressed that the team needs to start the upcoming game against Qatar in a strong manner in order to dictate the tempo from the opening minutes. He added that Canada have to make the game flow in their favor and impose their style from the beginning.

Marsch confirmed that the team's captain, Alphonso Davies, is ready to participate in the match after recovering from the injury that kept him out against Bosnia and Herzegovina. He added that the coaching staff will determine how to utilize him according to the course of the match. (QNA)
