Tottenham Extend Spanish Defender Pedro Porro's Contract Through 2031
London, June 14 (QNA) - Tottenham Hotspur announced on Sunday that it had extended the contract of Spanish defender Pedro Porro for five seasons, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2031.
In a statement published on its official website, the club said the 25-year-old would remain a key part of its long-term plans. Tottenham added that the new deal fended off interest from several clubs across Europe's top five leagues, citing Porro's technical quality and status as one of the continent's leading defenders.
The statement said that head coach Roberto De Zerbi strongly supported the contract extension, helping the club ward off interest from teams in England, Germany, Spain and France.
Porro joined Tottenham from Sporting CP ahead of the 2023-24 season. Since then, he has made 152 appearances for the North London club, scoring 13 goals and providing 26 assists. (QNA)
