Huawei Launches HarmonyOS 7 Operating System
Beijing, June 14 (QNA) - Huawei on Sunday officially announced the launch of its new operating system, HarmonyOS 7, featuring around 2,000 advanced artificial intelligence agents.
The new system is built around a major upgrade to its intelligent voice assistant, enabling it to autonomously complete complex, multi-step tasks with a reported success rate exceeding 90%, without requiring user intervention or traditional switching between applications.
Examples cited by the company include generating personalized fitness training plans based on health data, as well as searching for files and transferring them between connected devices.
Richard Yu, head of Huawei's consumer business group, said during the company's annual developer conference that the upgraded assistant is no longer limited to simple commands, but is capable of independently executing complex tasks.
He added that, for instance, the system can design a personalized marathon training plan based on a user's health metrics and schedule, and can also locate files stored on a connected laptop and send them remotely across the HarmonyOS multi-device ecosystem.
The system, designed as a native artificial intelligence environment independent of Android code, aims to deliver performance improvements of around 15 percent compared with previous versions.
Alongside its AI features, HarmonyOS 7 introduces a redesigned glass-like interactive interface with new 3D effects, particularly on the lock screen, which now responds dynamically to backgrounds, controls, and widgets. The system also includes six new advanced security tools designed to protect users from online fraud and cyberattacks. (QNA)
